After graduating from the Faculty of Education (Major in Art Education) at the Charles University in Prague, Šafr has been concentrating primarily on ceramic art production. Apart from his own artwork, the artist also designs and makes commemorative objects for the Museum Shop in the Cesky Krumlov Castle and Château, Prague Castle and similar types of stores in other castles in the Czech Republic. He also makes these types of objects for exhibitions (“Waldstein” in Waldstein Riding School, Prague), museums (Karel Gott Museum in Jevany), representative spaces (model of Lesser Town Square at the end of the 17-th century in Czech Chamber of Commerce; model of the company headquarter and collection of models of Meissen houses for Stephen Smith company in Meissen, Germany; collection of models of historical buildings for Aldstadtviertel St. Michael and model of the theatre for the Town Hall in in Fürth, Germany; model of the Savoy Hotel for Wiena International, Austria; etc.)

Since 2001   “Summer Ceramic Sculpture” - annual exhibition which was originally organised in the Minorite Cloister garden

                    in Bechyne. From 2004 until 2010 the exhibition took place in Museum of Central Bohemia in Roztoky

                    near Prague. From 2011 the location of the exhibition moved to the Klatovy Gallery in the Klenova Castle.
